Rick Hendrick is sueing DEI for a non-payment of about 1.5 million dollars left over from the 3 million dollar engine contact buy out when DEI took over Ginn racing who was under contract to buy it’s motors from Hendrick.

Jimmie Johnson To Be On The Rachel Ray Show

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog

Jimmie will be on the Nov. 28th show. Check your local listings for air times in your area or go to http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/ for more info. Apparently they find his softer side - I some how find that funny, its not like he is a bad-bum to begin with.

This Season’s News Makers

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog

Well the NASCAR season is over and Jimmie Johnson sits at the top of the heap with his record tying third straight Championship. Even though eventual Championship runner-up Carl Edwards won his series leading 9th Sprint Cup race of the season Johnson did what he exactly had to do [...]

Jimmie Johnson To Be On Cover of Sports Illustrated

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog

I guess some people other than race fans read my little old blog here, especially yesterday’s post and links.

Much to my surprise the powers that be over at Sports Illustrated have emailed me confirming that Jimmie will indeed be on their upcoming November 24th cover entitled “NASCAR COOL”. The [...]

Will Sports Illustrated Finally Give Jimmie a Cover?

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog
As I have documented in the past (here and here) Sports Illustrated hasn’t necessarily given Jimmie Johnson his due, let’s hope they can finally give the man the cover he so rightly deserves.
Great job on your record tying 3rd straight Championship Jimmie!

I’ll have more about this past weekend and [...]

Triple Crown NASCAR Weekend

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog
This is it, the time is now to crown a new NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion and after this weekend’s race, the Ford 400, at Homestead-Miami Speedway we will see who the Champion will be.
The Chase has come down to two possible victors, Jimmie Johnson (48) and Carl Edwards (99) [...]

A Sign of Things To Come?

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog
DEI and Ganassi Racing will merge for next year under the name of Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. If they are racing Chevys or Dodges has yet to be determined. My feeling is that it will be Chevys as DEI has a unified engine program with RCR.

Wow.
I mean WOW!
Four things hit [...]

This Is Late In Coming, But Better Late Than Never

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog
I’ve got to give Kyle Busch credit. Not for winning something like 21 combined NASCAR races this year in all 3 of NASCAR’s premier series, although he does deserve credit for that too, but for what he did with his winnings after his last win at Texas in the [...]

Have To Put It On Pause Tonight … But here are some quick observations

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog

I’ve got so much on my plate this week at work I’m having a hard time getting to bed let alone writing anything here. But quickly here a few quick observations:
1) NASCAR bumped in the East for America’s Funniest Home Videos by ABC? For sure. At least TSN in [...]

Phoenix: Two to Go!

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog

O.k. I made a mistake. Its mine and I own it. Last week when I said that Jeff Burton (31) was the only two-time winner at Texas I kind of forgot that Carl Edwards (99) won the spring race there making him a two-time winner as well and now [...]

“NASCAR and Goodyear Looking To Test Snow Tires”

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog

O.k. be forewarned this post has nothing to to do with snow tires, although I think it should. You must read on to find out why though. Come with me if you will, I promise not to be long-winded.
I know this is not new news to some of you [...]

New Posts at The Black Widow Blog

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog

I have now taken it off the shelf with the intention of updating it more often. My Stephen King one [...]

Texas Round-Up

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog
The race at Texas was interesting to say the least. Here is my Monday evening quarterbacking of the race that was;

1) Carl Edwards’ crew chief Bob Osborne rolls the dice with the fuel mileage and comes up 7’s and 11’s - wow! I’ve got to give them credit, 103 [...]

You Know …

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog

I was just thinking about the way NASCAR does its practices.
I understand that due to time commitments at certain races, especially when other supporting races are scheduled, that practice times must be set in stone, but for those races where there is some flexibility I think NASCAR needs to [...]

Next Up, The Texas Tornado!

Submitted by NASCAR Ranting and Raving Blog

Man, just three races left in the NASCAR season — it seems like the Daytona 500 was just a few weeks ago, does it not?
Yes, it is a long race season, and I think it is going to feel even longer for the 11 drivers who are “chasing” Jimmie [...]
