You know, the race on Sunday was pretty eventful in the end.

It did kind of get bored watching Shrub dominate, but if I were a fan of his I guess I would have been feeling pretty good about his total domination (you’re kidding yourself to think otherwise) of the race.

Here are my thoughts on the race that was (in point form):

- I really feel sorry for Ron Fellows in the #01 DEI car as he was yet taken out again by Kevin Harvick. If you recall, Fellows was a victim of Kevin’s antics in the Busch race last year in Montreal at the end of the race.

- I also feel bad for Ambrose too, but what can you do? Shifting the gears just as you are getting hit - what are the odds? Significantly higher on a road-course that’s for sure.

- O.K., since I’m handing out the feeling sorry awards tonight, I have to mention Jimmie Johnson’s bad luck at Sonoma too. Victim of untimely caution flags compounded with spinning out didn’t help his cause at all either.

- Props go out to: 1) David Gilliland for a great run, 2) for Gilland’s sponsors, 3) to those sponsors who put their name on Robby Gordon’s car, 4) Casey Mears for finishing 5th, 5) Juan Montoya and Tony Stewart for finishing in the top 10 after coming back from late race spins - impressive to say the least, and 6) Elliott Sadler for a great run as well - until the spin anyway.

Finally, for the most important thing about this whole race;

“Did you see Busch’s burnout? It was in the shape of the number 18, just like his car number.”
