rantingraving148.jpg NASCAR handed out the penalties to Kurt and Tony on Tuesday. It would appear that NASCAR is currently living up to its word by only giving both drivers a 6 race probation.

At the beginning of the season NASCAR announced that it would let their drivers be more themselves and would allow them to show more emotion. Which both Kurt and Tony did on Friday. With Kurt showing more emotion on the track (entrance to pit road actually) and with Tony allegedly showing his in the NASCAR hauler when he ‘apparently’ punched Kurt in the face after Kurt ‘apparently’ made a ‘fat’ comment at him.

NASCAR seems ready to dance with those who violate the terms of their probation though. “In the past we’ve used ‘probation for the rest of the year,’ but it’s never been something that’s been exercised. It never seemed to really mean anything,” NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said.

“Now we are going to take action. If you are on probation for an altercation with another driver, and you have a second incident during that probation period, we are going to take action.”

So far NASCAR has lived up to its word, let’s see if they do if one of these two mess up while on probation.
