1) My Senior Girls and Senior Boys Volleyball Teams are both 6-1 headed into the play-offs. I just finished my second 4 game week and I’m tired - that is why I’ve been a little slow in my posts lately. I look forward to my week off before play-offs begin, except for the fact that both my teams are entered into tournaments next week. No rest for the wicked I guess.

2) It is always nice to get acknowledgement every now and then for what you do, especially when it wasn’t asked for and comes from unexpected sources. This blog was chosen for “Site of The Day” by itsmynews.com. I didn’t even know I was in the running for such a thing. All I can say is, “They like me. They really, really like me,” and “Thanks”!

3) You need to go over to Bench Racing and see what Charlie has written about the Busch/Nationwide Series. It is a two-parter so be ready. Part 1. Part 2. I agree with Charlie in the fact that NASCAR needs to overhaul the series, but I don’t necessarily agree with all of his changes - there’ll be more on that when I have the time.

4) DEI is making sweeping changes in the way it does things, and who does what. Too little too late with regards to Dale Jr though. Perhaps if these changes, along with some of the more recent ones, were made at this time last year Jr would have stayed.

Gotta go. I’ll be back at it tomorrow, I promise. Take Care.

Rockingham… a victim of the ever changing world of NASCAR and due to things such as lack of attendance, inclement weather and conflicting dates with California and Texas, she was shut down. Earlier this year, Andy Hillenburg purchased “The Rock” with a promise to bring racing back to this beloved high banked one miler. Things so far are moving forward with an ARCA inaugural event scheduled for Sunday, May 4th, 2008. It has been appropriately named the “Carolina 500″. Hillenburg states, “We’re really looking forward to hosting the Carolina 500 and making this race one of the cornerstones of the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule as well as the marquis event for Rockingham Speedway.”

    God bless you Andy!!

I hope Smith considers banking at NHMS. It’s a wonderful venue, but some high banking there, like “The Rock”, would make Loudon an exciting race.
