We’re racing a “Pink for the Cure” No. 43 Dodge to raise awareness for breast cancer. October is breast cancer awareness month and our sponsor, General Mills, is teaming up with Susan G. Komen to raise awareness through “Pink for the Cure”. It’s a campaign that General Mills already donated $2 million to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and offers anyone touched by the disease an opportunity to join the cause.” - Bobby Labonte at Nascar.com

I’m with Bobby on this one. Cancer is a serious and vile disease that needs to be wiped out.

General Mills is OK in my books for doing this, I just wish more sponsors and organizations would get involved in finding a cure for cancer. Just think of the money out there. Corporations are spending well past 20 million a year on sponsorships alone, imagine if all that were funnelled into cancer research.

No one is immune to cancer, this past year alone NASCAR has lost 2 notable personalities, Bobby Hamilton and Benny Parsons, to cancer.

I have mentioned this before and I’ll bring it up again, NASCAR can do more to help find a cure for cancer. Instead of going into great detail as to how, I’ll link you to what I wrote over a year ago. Just to add to this link, how about donating $1.00 from each NASCAR diecast, or T-shirt sale? Dale Jr’s sales alone would probably rake in a fair chunk of change, he accounts for 70% of all NASCAR souvenir sales.

Together we can find a cure.

One week from today Nicole Lunders becomes Mrs. Nicole Lunders-Biffle.
When Greg was asked..”Why on a Wednesday?”… he stated “Because Jack won’t give me a weekend off.” Okay… so what’s the rush all about? Why not wait until post season? So instead of a week in the Cayman’s they get to enjoy their Honeymoon somewhere between Concord, NC and Martinsville, Va.
Martinsville is the sweatshirt Capital of the World so they can get his and hers sweatshirts stating…
“Just Married in Martinsville”
Nicole is pretty special and not just another pretty face in the pits…
This… is Nicole Lunders.
Best of luck to them!!
