Smoke has returned!! A 3 win streak and counting. The speculation around why Stewart is so strong after mid-season varies and it’s anybody’s guess, but I like to think he takes the first half season to warm up and by mid-season he is hot.

Kevin Harvick should know better than to anger an already ired Latino. As a rule they are hot tempered and Monty is no exception. I’m sure things will calm down. Kevin is right in that Montoya is almost always involved in some type of altercation, plus I think he had a big sense of entitlement coming into the race at The Glen. I get a sense that Monty is out to prove to the world that he is the Road Course King, but just because he’s used to no fenders doesn’t give him the right to tear everyone’s off.

Tire hopping… Have a good day!!!

With Stewart’s wins at The Glen — his fourth win at the track and his 32nd career victory in 306 starts — the No. 20 has won three of the last four races.

For the two-time Cup champ, Sunday’s win was anything but a cakewalk. Stewart had a strong car, but Jeff Gordon had both track and pit position after qualifying was rained out Friday. Gordon dominated the event. He led three times for 51, laps but with Stewart applying pressure in the closing circuits, Gordon spun in Turn 1 two laps before the finish.

“Basically, it was the same thing that I got it in Turn 1,” Stewart said who also spun out from the point in the same place halfway through the race — but dropped to 19th. “It was both of ours to lose today. Jeff and I by far had the best two cars. I just made a mistake and wheel-hopped it, was the biggest thing. We just had to keep fighting back, it was a hard job fightin’ back through there.

“We just had to keep the pressure on Jeff and hope he made a mistake and that is what happened.”

With the advantages afforded points leader Gordon, he humbly admitted there were no excuses for his faux pas entering Turn 1, simply driver error.

The fine people at Kodak are looking to give away 5 pairs of tickets to the NASCAR Sharp AQUOS 500 race on September 2, 2007 at California Speedway and they thought it would be cool to give away tickets through different fan sites so they have chosen my blog to be one of those ticket vehicles.

Yep, 5 pairs of tickets. Kodak, what a great company!

Why is Kodak doing this you ask? To promote The No. 12 Kodak Dodge and the winning paint scheme from the “Ink Ryan’s Ride” contest, which will be unveiled that weekend.

In fact, Kodak is so wanting people to go to the race that even if you don’t win tickets through my site you still have a chance of getting a pair of tickets the day before the race. Kodak will also be giving away 75 pairs of tickets to the race on September 2, 2007 at California Speedway. The first 75 fans to bring an old inkjet printer to the Hollywood & Highland Center’s Awards Walk on Saturday, September 1 from 11 am to 3 pm will receive 2 tickets to the race! All printers will be sent to an electronics recycling center. The No. 12 Kodak Dodge will also be on display with the winning paint scheme from the “Ink Ryan’s Ride” contest.

So how do I get a chance to get a pair of tickets you ask? Easy. Starting Tuesday I will have a special email link posted for the contest. All you have to do is answer the skill testing question (half a brain testing question actually) and email me the answer. Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1st correct answer, 2nd correct answer, 12th correct answer, 21st correct answer, and 112th correct answer.

A complete list of the rules will be posted in the near future (probably tomorrow).

Once I have provided Kodak with the winning names my job is done. Kodak will handle everything else, including getting you your tickets on time through courier.

I hope everyone enjoys this contest and appreciates what Kodak is doing. It is sponsors like Kodak that allow us to see our favourite NASCAR drivers each week, without them there would be no NASCAR. Wow, I almost sound like Michael Waltrip now don’t I?
