Shocking news out of DeKalb, Illinois. Reports are that there was a monster truck performance, and something went terribly wrong.

According to Tobie DePauw, who did not see the accident but did see some of the performance prior,

It was going over demolished cars. I don’t know if it was jumping them, but it was backing over them and running over them. It looked very precarious.

Details are still far and few but several ambulances are on the scene. So far of the 9 injuries stated at this time, none have proven serious. That is the good news.

The next questions after being sure everyone is ok, must be:

1. How did the monster truck lose control?
2. Could something have been done to provide more safety?
3. What, if any, affect will this have on future monster truck events throughout the nation?
